SUKHOTHAI

We did a little road trip from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai which was the ancient capital of Siam. There are many ruins of temples and other buildings in this area. We rented bicycles and traveled around. Started in the early morning and were done, literally by 1:00 as by then, the temperature was around 35 degrees. Here are some of the pictures.

It was quite a climb to get up to this Buddha below. But the view was amazing.

This is the Keyhole Buddha. The statue is huge.

Just a couple more pictures. The site was unbelieveable.

Some views of the Tharaburi Resort where we stayed in Sukhothai. Note the little geckos which munched bugs in the bathroom/shower areas. None were ever in our rooms. Great place for 35 dollars a night including breakfast for two people.

The reception area
(I used the computer on the left for my posting from Thailand)

Here is the pool area. When we arrived, we were the only people there.

A little gas station on a small side road. Look closely and you can see the two pumps.

The Sunday Market in Chiang Mai. Enjoyed this one lots.
